I am writing to introduce you to Borodyanka, a resilient community currently engaged in significant efforts to rebuild and recover from the recent challenges of russian occupation. Borodyanka is eager to establish partnerships with your municipalities to support its recovery plan and foster mutual growth. In 2022, the Borodyanka territorial community endured significant destruction due to Russian aggression. A total of 2,234 objects were either completely or partially destroyed. This includes 80 apartment buildings, 2,116 private houses, 10 schools, 6 kindergartens, 13 administrative buildings, 7 cultural institutions, 2 social welfare facilities, roads, and essential utility networks for the community's residents. Over 5,000 residents are unable to return home due to the lack of housing, with 28 apartment buildings and 1,062 private houses still waiting to be restored. Borodyanka is grappling with a social and humanitarian crisis caused by the Russian occupation. Housing and administrative buildings are being rebuilt, and residents are returning, but there are still objects requiring restoration and the development of project and estimate documentation. Through resilience and collective effort, we are determined to overcome these challenges and pave the way for a brighter future. Enclosed with this letter is our comprehensive 10-year Plan for the restoration of Borodyanka, accessible via the following link: https://bsr.gov.ua/plan-vidnovlennya-borodyanskoyi-gramady/ . This plan outlines our vision for the sustainable reconstruction and revitalization of our community, focusing on building back better and creating investment opportunities that will benefit all stakeholders involved. Given your organization's expertise in facilitating partnerships among municipalities, we kindly request your assistance in connecting Borodyanka with European counterparts. Borodyanka aims to learn from and exchange experiences with municipalities across Europe, leveraging their insights and best practices to enhance our own recovery efforts, and exchange cultural ties and experiences. We believe that through partnerships with European municipalities, Borodyanka can turn its plan into reality and create lasting positive change for its community. Your support in facilitating connections and exchanges would be instrumental in achieving this goal. Thank you for considering our request. We look forward to the opportunity to discuss potential partnerships and collaboration further. The contact person for establishing cooperation is Marharyta Bondarieva, reachable at +380675364897, margobondareva@gmail.com, borodyanka@bsr.gov.ua. Sincerely, Acting Head of the Borodyanka Village Council Iryna ZAKHARCHENKO
